Virtual JV880

Is anyone using this?

The vst3 file is easy to download and install but it wont work without the ROM files. They are not so easy to find. The ROM file is called JV880_rompack_v1 if anyone can find it let me know.

I have a JV880 and a JV1080.. you can actually load the same preset cards on both machines but the weird thing is that the JV880 sounds more “warm” then the 1080.
I am pretty sure they both use the same circuitry (more or less) it’s weird

The 880 uses older digital to analogue convertors which for some reason sound better. Espen Kraft did a great video on the 880. I wouldn't mind having a play with one. Chris, is it worth getting? I don't want to spend money on something that only has a handful of useable sounds and the rest are just filler.

There are some nice sounds but also a lot of “bread and butter” sounds. IMO nothing a nice VST can’t do. For spacesynth I only use the strings which are nice and warm.
But.. it can hold one SR-JV80 expansion card, so you could put in a nice Vintage Synth expansion card (SR-JV80-04) for example
